Description
Medtronic Guardian 4 Sensor
The Guardian 4 sensor is a device that helps people with diabetes manage their glucose levels. It's part of the Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) system and works by converting tiny amounts of glucose from under the skin into an electronic signal. This signal then provides information about glucose levels, helping people make informed decisions about their treatment.
The Guardian 4 sensor is designed to complement, not replace, the information obtained from standard blood glucose monitoring devices. It's a single-use device that can be used for up to seven days and doesn't require a prescription. Users can refer to the system user guide to make treatment decisions based on the sensor's readings.
For use with the MiniMed™ 780G system.

- Medtronic's most accurate sensor with a MARD* rating of 8.7% using the CONTOUR®NEXT LINK 2.4 Meter

How to Remove the Guardian 4 Sensor
- Disconnect the transmitter from the sensor as described in the Guardian 4 transmitter user guide.
- Gently pull the sensor from the body to remove it.
- Discard the sensor in a sharps container.
Warnings:
Read this entire user guide before attempting to insert the Guardian 4 sensor. The one-press serter (MMT-7512) is the only serter approved for use with the sensor. Failure to follow directions or using a different insertion device, may result in improper insertion, pain, or injury.
Do not attempt to connect a transmitter or recorder that is not compatible with the sensor. The sensor is designed to work with approved transmitters only. Connecting the sensor to a transmitter or recorder not approved for use with the sensor may damage the components. Refer to the system user guide for a list of compatible products.
Precautions:
- Before inserting the sensor, wash your hands with soap and water to prevent any site infection.
- Do not insert the sensor through tape, which may cause improper insertion and function.
- Use only alcohol to prepare the insertion site and ensure that no residue is left on the skin.
- Rotate the sensor insertion site to ensure the sites are used effectively.
- Do not attempt to clean, resterilize or extract the needle from the needle housing, as this may cause accidental needlestick or puncture.
